Borrowers are responsible for any loss or damage to loaned materials checked out in their name.   Borrowers are expected to keep the materials checked out in their name and NOT to let anyone else use them.  Students cannot check out items FOR another student.  All student library accounts must be cleared at the end of each semester.  The computerized circulation system will keep a record of fines for all books overdue from the University.  When the accumulated fines reach $5.00, the student will no longer be able to check out materials until the fines are paid.  Long overdue materials (more than two weeks overdue) are charged as if they were lost by the student, $40.00 per item.  Fines over $5.00 and “Long overdue” charges will be sent to Student Accounts.  The Business Office adds a handling fee of $5.00 to the charge.  Transcripts cannot be issued until all library charges are paid.
